Music for Mindfulness

Music is a great way to de-stress and take a break from your work! Here are some tips to use music as a method of mindfulness.

Spend time outside

One way to use music for mindfulness is to listen to the different kinds of sounds that you hear. Are you hearing birdsong, cars honking, or something else?

Focus and clear mind

If you are distracted, it can be hard to fully absorb the music you are listening to. Try to empty your mind of all other thoughts and concentrate only on the musc you hear.

Use as a means to de-stress

Listening to music while being mindful can have many stress relieving benefits. Similar to the above, it can be hard to clear your mind, but after you do you will feel much calmer.

Music You Like

Classical music can often seem uninteresting to new listeners. It may seem obvious, but make sure to listen to pieces that you enjoy and that relax you. If you don't like the song, you don't have to listen to it!
